WARRANTY REGISTRATION


COVERAGE SECTION


Terms of Coverage: 

1 Year Protection Warranty - Coverage begins on the date the engine/ vehicle is delivered to the owner. Coverage will extend for 12 months following the date the vehicle is delivered to the owner if registration is  returned within the time allowed, without mileage limitations.

3 Year Protection Warranty - Coverage begins on the date the engine/ vehicle is delivered to the owner. Coverage will extend for 36 months following the date the vehicle is delivered to the owner if registration is returned within the time allowed, without mileage limitations.

5 Year Protection Warranty - Coverage begins on the date the engine/ vehicle is delivered to the owner. Coverage will extend for 72 months following the date the vehicle is delivered to the owner if registration is  returned within the time allowed, without mileage limitations.


ENGINE/ VEHICLE COVERAGE & EXCLUSIONS


Coverage is provided for privately owned gasoline powered passenger car & light truck engines only. Engine size must not exceed 8 cylinders. Diesel, Natural Gas & other non-gasoline engines are not covered. Turbo equipped engines are not covered. Coverage is provided for original equipment (O.E) specification stock replacement parts/ components and excludes performance enhancements rv/torquer camshafts and high volume oil pumps which will be covered. Light trucks are limited to a one ton rating.


WHAT IS COVERED


Coverage includes reasonable and customary costs to repair or replace any covered listed in this Limited Warranty, includes parts,& labor if required due to a Mechanical Breakdown. A Mechanical Breakdown is defined as a failure of a covered part or faulty workmanship as originally supplied by the engine builder. This Limited Warranty does not include coverage for gradual reduction in operation performance due to wear and tear. You must maintain the engine in accordance with the requirements outlined below to keep the Limited Warranty in force. If requested, evidence of proper service must be provided in event of a claim.


COVERED PARTS


All internal lubricated parts including: pistons, pins, piston rings, connecting rods, crankshaft, rod bearings, main bearings, oil pump, timing gears, timing chain or belt, timing tensioners & dampers, camshaft, cam bearings, followers, lifters, push rods.  All gaskets and seals that were installed as part of the engine rebuild as covered for a period of 12 months or 12,000 miles date of engine/ vehicle is delivered to vehicle owner. Coverage does not include fluids (oil, oil filter, coolant) when required as part of a covered repair. All part replacement will be made with like kind and quality and may be made with appropriately rebuilt or reclaimed parts by authorization of the administrator.


SERVICE ADVISORY


To ensure full benefit from this Limited Warranty, we strongly suggest periodic inspection of non-covered vehicle systems critical to the life expectancy and performance of the engine. Therefore, along with the oil/filter changes outlined below, we recommend periodic inspection of the vehicle’s cooling system, radiator, hoses, thermostat, cooling fan, fuel system and all drive belts. Damage resulting from these non-covered vehicle systems & maintenance items will not be covered by this Limited Warranty. Please refer to the Maintenance Requirements section listed below.

 WHAT IS NOT COVERED

              Warranty does not cover and is void as a result of abnormal operating temperatures (this includes melted or missing heat tabs that are adhered to the engine or cylinder head to monitor the operating temperatures).

          In addition the following criteria will void the warranty: accident, racing, lack of proper lubrication, misuse, detonation/pre-ignition, broken connecting rods or pistons (or subsequent damage to block), improper or contaminated fuel, and or oil, thrust bearing wear due to transmission related components or problems, faulty/rotted freeze plugs due to lack of cooling system maintenance and or ground straps and vehicle modifications that can damage the engine.

           Detonation/pre-ignition damage includes but is not limited to melted or broken pistons, rings, damaged cylinder head(s) and their related parts.

           Causes include inoperative or malfunctioning computer and or emissions control and ignition devices, clogged catalyst or exhaust systems, etc. Modifications include but are not limited to superchargers, computer PROM changes, over sized tires or anything that will alter the performance of the vehicle from its O.E.M. status. Gaskets that are not supplied or installed by Tampa Bay Engine Shop are not covered by this warranty.

Warranty does not cover towing, vehicle rental, oil, oil filter, Freon, antifreeze, incidental, special consequential or exemplary damages resulting from loss of time, or use of the vehicle, or for any service not expressly provided herein, relating to or arising from products supplied by Tampa Bay Engine Shop.

           Repairs or replacements do not extend or renew length of warranty, nor does it apply fault.

            Any Mechanical Breakdown occurring outside the term of the warranty.

            Any repair not first authorized by Tampa Bay Engine Shop

            Any vehicle used commercially or registered to a business or government agency

            Any repair required because of collision, abuse, overheating or operation without proper lubrication or coolant, improper fuel supply/adjustment, racing, accidents, fires, floods, riot, acts of god, vandalism, upset, theft or lack of proper maintenance.

            Any loss or expense if the odometer has been tampered with, altered or is inoperative.

            Any repair for the purpose of correcting the engine compression or oil consumption when a mechanical breakdown has not occurred.

            Any gradual reduction in operating performance due to wear and tear.

            Any damage to non covered part(s) caused by covered part(s) failure or any damage to covered part(s) caused by non-covered part(s).

            Any covered part or non-covered part which has not failed but which a repair facility recommends or requires to be repaired or replaced.

            Any routine adjustments and/ or tune-ups.

            Any loss caused by towing a trailer exceeding the manufacturers’s recommended towing specifications.

            Any vehicle over one (1) ton capacity.

            Any mechanical breakdown outside the United States.

            Any identified and specifically excluded engine/vehicle.


MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS


To ensure full benefit from this Limited Warranty the warranty provider recommends periodic inspection of those service items critical to the life expectancy and performance of the engine. Along with normal servicing and inspection, You must have the engine oil and oil filter changed between 500 and 750 miles then every four (4) months or 4,000 miles, which ever comes first.  You are obligated to keep original receipts and work orders showing the date and mileage when services were performed. If you perform your own oil changes, you must keep all oil and oil filter receipts and an oil change log including date and mileage at which oil and oil filter were changed. If requested, evidence of proper service must be provided in event of a claim.


LIMIT OF LIABILITY


The total of all benefits paid or payable under this Limited Warranty shall be the price You paid for the engine and installation, not exceeding $3,000. If the engine was not installed by a certified technician and/or licensed repair facility, the limit of liability will be the price You paid for the rebuilt engine, not to exceed $1,500. Coverage on these engines will include engine repair costs only (no engine removal and/or reinstallation costs) and the engine must returned to Tampa Bay Engine Shop, Inc facility for warranty review and repair. In all cases, claim analysis and covered repairs must be conducted by an Administrator approved and certified repair facility. The Administrator reserves the right to move the engine/vehicle to an alternate repairing facility. The engine/vehicle transport costs, if any, will be the responsibility of the vehicle owner. Any liability for incidental and consequential damage including, but not limited to property damage, damage to a non-covered part(s), lost of use, repair delays, loss of time, inconvenience and commercial loss resulting from the operation, maintenance or use of the described engine or a breach of any implied warranties arising from operation by las, is expressly excluded.



IN THE EVENT OF A BREAKDOWN


If a breakdown occurs, Contact the Administrator, at 813-443-5855 for assistance and authorization prior to proceeding with any repair.


Please remember that unauthorized repairs are not covered. Evidence of proper service must be provided, if requested, in event of a claim. You must assume all liability for inspection and/or tear-down costs for non-covered part(s) and all unauthorized repairs.


TRANSFER OF WARRANTY


This agreement is transferable, one time only, to a second owner upon payment of a $200.00 transfer fee to Tampa Bay Engine Shop Inc. Transfer fee must be received by Tampa Bay Engine Shop Inc 30 days of vehicle sale.
